The most and best part of her strategy is that she always allocated time for contingencies and unexpected happenings which helped her in succeeding with her goal no matter what kind of circumstance one would come across.

She is eagerly waiting for this New Years party to put forth her next set of goals. Her attitude might seem to be machine like, but the fact is that it is easily achievable with determination and constant practice.

“I am coming Mom,” said Samantha hurriedly writing up her assignment. Margaret was wondering what can keep her daughter so busy just a day after her Christmas holidays began that she refuses to come out shopping. “Come let’s go, have you prepared the list Mama?” asked Samantha. “What were you doing all this while?” asked inquisitive Margaret. “Studying, What else?” answered Samantha. “ It’s a long break, thought will make use of the time to finish my assignments and read a subject or two which I did not perform well last Semester” explained Samantha. Margaret filled with happiness, also expressed a sense of shock seeing her daughter so responsible and studious. As she was thinking they left for the market to place order for pastries and cakes. It was a long day, they enjoyed shopping together. It was the first after six months that Samantha went shopping. Always glued to her books never did she go out for any reason whatsoever?

Samantha prepared a list of persons they agreed to invite for the X’mas party. She was systematic in making arrangements. She studied during the first half of the day and enjoyed preparing for the party and meeting up with old friends the rest of the day. She was always a perfect planner and had the perseverance to follow her plan.

It was holiday time and both her parents joined her in preparing for Christmas Celebrations. “How are you enjoying your holidays Samantha?” asked David. “Great Dad! It simply rocking” said Samantha in an excited tone. “How’s your college? Are you happy about it?” asked David. “I am loving it Dad! But for all the initial hiccups, now I am thoroughly settled” replied Samantha.

As they were conversing, there was a call. It was none other than Rebecca, Samantha’s best friend. “Hi Samantha, Got your invite for the party,” said Rebecca or Becky as she is fondly known as. “Good! Do join in” said Samantha. “Sorry dear! I am leaving for a trip abroad and doubt if I will be back by X’mas” replied Becky. What can she say about that, except that she was wondering how Becky will find time to finish her assignments when the college begins after the celebrations.

Samantha became all the more serious about her assignments and finished them much before Christmas. Happy and relaxed Samantha happened to read about a short term course on one of her favorite subjects in the newspaper. She though it will help her in the project due mid of next year. The fee was reasonable and likely to complete much before the college reopening date.

Christmas celebrations went on well; the party was interesting and wonderful for it’s been a while that Samantha met some of her relatives and friends. Though she badly missed her friend Becky, she did feel extremely happy about the get together party. Many of her college going cousins had a lot of helpful tips for her in managing her subjects and projects as well. She found the party both relaxing and informative.

Samantha did complete her short term course, made use of her Christmas gift money for paying for the course and was well prepared to handle her college studies more confident than what she was before the holidays began. With systematic preparation and fun filled relaxation Samantha was beaming with energy and confidence. It was definitely a wonderful Christmas time for Samantha.
